Count Your Blessings

Counting My Blessings

Please sand, seal and sand the piece of wood that you have chosen.  Base with Black, most likely two coats will work.  Transfer the outer edge of the little boy and paint him with four coats of Fleshtone.  Transfer the details.  Lightly line the details with Burnt Sienna.

Wet the area between the eyes and float Burnt Sienna at the top of the eyes.

Mop gently.

Use a small flat or angle brush and float Burnt Sienna down the outer edge of each side of the face, float under the hair line, across the base of the nose, under the eyebrows and around the perimeter of the arms and fingers.

Wet the cheeks and float Berry Red from the outer cheek area to the inner.  Mop by pouncing up and down.

Line the eyebrows again with Burnt Sienna and add a touch of Black at the inner edges.

Darken the nostril holes with a touch of Black.  And float again with the Burnt Sienna.

Fill the eyes with White.

The iris is Midnight Blue, a touch of Burnt Sienna plus White.  The pupil is Black.  Add the reflective light from 3-6 on the iris.  It is the base color plus White added.  Line the iris with Black.  Float Payne’s Gray across the entire eye socket just below the lash line.  Paint the eyelashes with Black.  Dot the iris at 11 o’clock with white.  The upper lip is a line of Berry Red.  The lower lip is Berry Red plus White.

Highlights on the face are white and are placed on the upper cheeks, down the bridge of the nose and on the ball of the nose.  Place a line of White across the bottom lip. Highlight the arms directly down the middle with White.

Basecoat the hair with Honey Brown.  Use my oval feather edge to begin the direction of the hair.  First use Burnt Sienna and then highlight with Lemon Yellow and White.  Add more depth on the forehead with Dark Chocolate and a touch of Black.

The halo is Lemon Yellow and then highlighted with White.

The printing is painted with Country Blue.

Basecoat the tulips with Dioxine Purple.  Highlight the tops with a float of Dioxine Purple plus White.  Highlight with a line of Royal Fuchsia and White. Dots of Orange on the tops and the dot above is Fuchsia. The rounded flower is Royal Fuchsia highlighted with the base plus White.  The center dot is Purple.  The darker leaf is a medium Green and the lighter one is medium green plus Lemon Yellow. Trim out the edges with Royal Fuchsia plus White, and Country Blue.  Finish with the varnish of your choice.

Thanks, Jill
